Success Stories
Real People. Real Progress.

Names have been changed and stories are illustrative examples of the outcomes we aim for. Real participant stories will be added here with consent as they're shared.
Moments From Our Community

Past Events

Coffee & Catch-Ups
A regular part of life with Valencea — heading out to a local café with a support worker for a coffee, a browse of the menu, and some good conversation along the way.

Creative Sessions
Painting, drawing and colour — a relaxed creative session where participants and support workers sit down together, try something new, and enjoy the process as much as the finished piece.

Out & About in the Community
From the supermarket aisles to a sunny picnic table by the park, our support workers join participants for the everyday errands and outings that make up a full, connected week.

Participant Stories
James, 24
James wanted to move into his own place but felt anxious about managing daily tasks alone. With Supported Independent Living support, he built a weekly routine, learned to cook a handful of go-to meals, and now hosts his family for dinner once a month — something he's genuinely proud of.
Amara, 31
Amara's goal was simple: catch public transport to her volunteer job without a support worker. Over six months of practice sessions, she built the confidence to travel independently, and now mentors other participants working toward the same goal.
Noah, 8
Noah's family wanted him to feel more comfortable in group settings. Through our social and recreational program, he found a weekend art group he loves, and his parents say his confidence at school has grown alongside it.
Family Stories
The Nguyen Family
As full-time carers, the Nguyens were exhausted before finding Valencea. Regular in-home support gave them breathing room, and having consistent support workers meant they never had to re-explain their son's needs from scratch.
Priya, Mother and Carer
Priya says the biggest difference wasn't a specific service — it was being listened to. When a support worker wasn't the right fit, the team made a change quickly and without any awkwardness.
