Conflict of Interest Policy

Last updated July 2026

Valencea is committed to making decisions that are in the best interests of the people we support, free from undue influence.

What Is a Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest arises when a staff member's personal, financial or family interests could improperly influence the support or advice they provide to a participant.

Identifying and Disclosing Conflicts

All staff are required to disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest to management as soon as they become aware of it, including personal relationships with participants or their families, or financial interests in referrals.

Managing Conflicts

Where a conflict is identified, we take steps to manage it transparently — this may include reassigning a support worker, requiring independent oversight of a decision, or informing the participant so they can make an informed choice.

Choice and Control Comes First

Participants always retain the right to choose their own providers and supports. We will never let a conflict of interest limit your choice and control over your NDIS plan.
